Breakfast and Brotherhood

breakfastIt has been 10 years since the weekend hadith class and breakfast program after Fajar salat got started in the Charlotte area. Sheikh Bassam conducted the breakfast class for several years at Masjid Mustafa on Saturdays. Now the Sheikh runs the class on Sundays at his masjid the Islamic Center of Charlotte in the Progress lane.

25 Years of strength – the Growth of Masjid Ash-shaheed

as_shaheedIt was in April of 1989 that a group of Muslims got together to form a group, calling themselves The Charlotte Masjid of Al-Islam. After a few years of meeting in homes of the community leaders, they were able to acquire a facility on Tuckaseegee Rd. In 1993, the community renamed itself Masjid Ash-Shaheed (Mosque of the Witness) to honor the memory of one of the founders.

An EID of Unity

eidThroughout Ramadan every community has held events designed to bring Muslims together for worship, contemplation and enjoyment. Our community iftaar, classes and late night dhikr forged new bonds of brotherhood and friendship or made existing bonds stronger. Each Muslim challenged the next to increase in prayer, devotion, worship and charity. Fundraisers shattered expectations and made us all believe that Allah has truly blessed the Carolina Muslim community.

Building Bridges with Interfaith Relations
